Police Arrests Six, Recovers 20 Stolen Motorcycles In City Swoop

KAMPALA, Uganda| SHIFT MEDIA NEWS: Police in Kampala has arrested six suspects and recovered 20 suspected stolen motorcycles in a joint security operation.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, the six were apprehended following a tip-off by intelligence agencies that the shop they were operating from was used as a base for buying and selling suspected stolen motorcycles.

“The joint team comprising of Central Police station Kampala, Flying Squad and 999 response team last evening raided Kisenyi along Ring Road in Central Kampala and recovered 20 suspected stolen motorcycles,” said Onyango.
he said the six suspects were arrested to help with investigations.
The suspects who are currently detained at CPS Kampala were identified as Assumani Sitakage, Muhagizi Daus
Ssegirinya Haby, Muwesi Ismail, Faruak Ssekyedu and Kawuki Gibson
They are being held on charges of being in possession of suspected stolen properties.
“We appeal to members of the public that if your motorcycle was stolen come to CPS Kampala and cross-check with Flying Squad,” said Onyango.
