Museveni Rewards Olympic Gold Winner Cheptegei With Brand New Car

It was all smiles for the IAAF 10,000 meters Gold Medalist, Joshua Cheptegei as he received a brand new vehicle, as an offer from President Museveni.

Cheptegei won 2 Gold Medals, one in the 5,000 meters and another in the 10,000 meters marathon at the just concluded IAAF in Qatar and in last year’s Gold Coast Queens Land Marathon in Australia.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni pledged to offer Cheptegei a reward. This pledge was fulfilled with an offer of a brand new double cabin Mitsubishi pick up.

This is in appreciation for his outstanding performance at the Commonwealth Games that took place in Gold Coast Queens Land in Australia in 2018.

State House Sports Officer Ms Norah Nassimbwa officiated at the handover ceremony of the vehicle at State House Nakasero.

“The car will help me enhance my training performance as it comes just 10 months to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. I intend to win another glory for the country,” – said the beaming Cheptegei
