Kampala, Uganda| SHIFTMEDIA| Uganda is indeed gifted by nature. Last year, it was named by the Fodor’s Travel, the internationally-recognized guidebook publisher and travel authority as one of the top annual 52 Go List destinations to visit.

Tourists have been advised to take advantage of the country’s’ unparalleled wildlife experiences in the Pearl of  Africa to enjoy nature in the mountainous terrain, soaring waterfalls, and amazing wildlife encounters such as the Gorillas in Bwindi.

This notwithstanding has seen outstanding Tour Companies such as the One Touch Safaris ( https://onetouchsafaris.com/) to engage to steer tourism ahead by kick off the year with the Boat Excursion to Bulago Islands on January 26th, 2020. For starters, 26th January is a public holiday in Uganda (NRM Liberation Day), the day NRM captured power.

Being a Sunday, One Touch has organized a boat excursion to Bulago Island in Lake Victoria. “For just $39 (UGX 150K) Per Person, revelers will be entertained to a boat cruise, lunch, swimming, and island walks among others,” said Josiah Mwanje, the Destination Manager.

Revellers to use this state of the art speed boat

Mwanje noted that as part of Uganda’s inclusion on the Go List, One Touch Safaris wants Ugandans to understand and cherish domestic tourism.

“It all starts with us, by first appreciating the perfect nature that God gave Uganda even before foreigners come in to appreciate them,” said Mwanje.

Why Bulago Islands?

Bulago Island is one of the several scenic islands on Lake Victoria, located east of Entebbe International Airport. Bulago Island is approximately 500 acres of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The Islands has over 6km of white sandy beaches with 10km of shoreline that is mainly made up of rocks and low cliffs.

This according to Mwanje makes it one of the perfect places to visit for a perfect vacation, a great spot for weekend getaways and honeymoon.

Bulago, a ‘Luganda’ word to mean neck because of their neck-like formation, is the first island in Lake Victoria to be developed exclusively for leisure use. The Island has some of the excellent beaches owned by local and expatriate residents and professionals.

Bulago Island is all about enjoyment and relaxation. The island is comprised of beautiful soft white sand and several resorts.

Bulago offers brilliant lakeside views, sunbath, great water for sports, jogging around the island, horse-riding and hiking trails and as well as an excellent base for bird-watching.
