TERRIBLE: Oyam RDC Releases Detailed Report Of ROBLYN BUS Victims

OYAM, Uganda [SHIFT MEDIA] As the country remains somber regarding the fatal Oyam bus accident that claimed 17 lives, caution has been ordered for drivers on the road.

The Resident District Commissioner Oyam Rtd ASP Hope Atuhaire has called for calm as investigations into the deadly accident takes center stage.

Atuhaire who visited Aber Health Center IV where the bodies and those injured were getting emergency treatment said doctors are doing their best to save more lives.

The RDC led a technical team from Ministry of Works and Transport at Aber Hospital in Atapara along with the Director of the Hospital Fr. Dr. Okori Samuel.

Atuhaire noted that  25 victims were brought from the scene, a few kilometers from Corner Kamdini trading center.

“One person died on the way, three (3) died on arrival, while 21 were admitted,” she said while releasing the detailed report.

She said one person died by 7.00am in the morning,while 20 remained on the ward . Two of these are ladies and are still on unstable condition.

“One person remains unidentified,while . 18 are responding and getting stabilised,”said the RDC.

She confirmed number of those that passed on is 17

“The hunt for the driver who is still on the run is on. The manager of the bus (Robyn) was at the Hospital from 5.00am and has been helping victims out,”said Atuhaire . She said the patient with serious head injuries has been evacuated to Mulago National Referral Hospital for further Management.

Meanwhile the remaining victims shall  continuously be monitored for at 30 days to rule out any more issues.
