KAMPALA-SHIFTMEDIA- To know that Ugandans are just tired, not even the threats of suicide by singer and songwriter, Nince Henry would deter celebrations.
After the “Mpola Mpola” singer posted a suicide note on his social media, perhaps just a few of his fans felt worried.
He wrote on his Facebook page that, “Ngenda Kwetta leero! Kilo Kyaleero!”, which loosely translates to, “I am going to end my life today.”
Several fans have since come out to show concern for the singer, with several offering words of hope and asking him to reconsider his decision and seek help.
Although it remains unclear what triggered the suicidal thoughts, it appears the singer could be struggling with depression and unmet financial obligations resulting from continued lock-down on the entertainment industry for close to a year now over the COVID-19 pandemic.
Police in Kampala has said it is investigating the allegations over the suicide thoughts describing it as a criminal offence.
