KAMPALA, UGANDA|SHIFTMEDIA| After two months of lockdown in your house due to the COVID-19 issues, love, romance, eating out and fun shouldn’t be lost as we ponder what the future is.
Following the partial lifting of the lockdown by President Museveni on May 18, 2020, hotels were allowed to operate, so long as the Standard Operating Procedures are adhered too.
The good news is that the Ruparelia Group, which has a chain of hotels in and around Kampala is open to the public, and with strict SOPs to take care of both patrons and staff.
City tycoon and Chairman of the Ruparelia Foundation, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia in a communication said a few of the chain of his hotels are currently opened to the public.
Some of the group hotels and restaurants already opened include Cabana Restuarant located at Speke Apartments along Wampewo Avenue, Kabira Country Club, Bukoto Heights, Boulevard Apartments, Speke Apartments-Kitante and Speke Resort Muyonyo (below).
“Speke Hotel, Forrest Cottages, and Dolphin Suites are being prepared and the plan is to have them open soon”, said Sudhir. He said swimming and gym is also still closed until permitted.
The opening of Hotels and restaurants will inevitably offer relief to Ugandans who have been locked down in their homes for months and will now be able to order for their favorite cuisines.
Kabira Country Club is one of Kampala’s favorite high-end relaxing getaway, offering a world class restaurant, gymnasium, accommodation, and a heated swimming pool.
