KAMPALA, Uganda [SHIFT MEDIA] What begun as a joke is seemingly biting. As we publish this former Workers MP, and hitherto COFTU Secretary General has been booted out.
The Central Organisation of Free Trade Unions (COFTU) Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting held at Twin Tower Hotel in Kampala elected Mr Antony Wanyama as acting COFTU Secretary General, the embattled former Workers Member of Parliament and NSSF Board member Hon. Dr Sam Lyomoki via a Vote of No Confidence decision.

Members also elected Mr Robert Keno as Deputy Secretary General , replacing Ms Penninah Tukamwesiga a Board member at NSSF. The members also elected Ms Harriet Nandutu as Ag Second Deputy Secretary General. Mr Josesph Mbabazi was re-elected in his position as Treasurer General. Mr Milton Turyareeba remains COFTU Chairman General . The team will remain in office until the next QDC is held. .
