RIP: One Dead, Scores Of Mourners Injured In Masaka Nasty Accident

MASAKA, Uganda|SHIFTMEDIA| Mourners who were heading for the burial of Political analyst Dr Anas Kaliisa are nursing injuries sustained in a nasty accident along the Masaka – Mbarara High way on Thursday. scores of those injured at currently admitted at Kitovu Hospital in Masaka.

Police identified those injured as Uthuman Matovu (driver), Jawuharah Nagayi and Hannah Nakitto among others.

The injured were travelling in a Toyota Mark X registration number UBG169S.

The fatal accident left a National Unity Platform Parliamentary aspirant Badru Katongole dead. Katongole had expressed interest in contesting against Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi for the Bukoto Central seat.

Southern Regional Traffic Police Commander Godfrey Mwesigye attributed the accident to over speeding.
