KOBOKO WOES: Allegations of Bias in State House Anti-Corruption Investigations

KAMPALA, Uganda [SHIFTMEDIA] For years the Emin Pasha Hotel in an upscale Nakasero suburb in Uganda’s capital Kampala has remained a boutique hotel known for its Gracious and Elegant cuisine.
The hotel’s ambience, comfort and garden eloquence remains a class apart.
Massive expansion
For two years down the road, revelers to this spectacular hotel have been requested to seek services elsewhere, not in bad faith, but for the better. The good news is that around September, October 2022, the gates to the “new’ Emin Pasha in Nakasero will be swung open once again after 24 months of serious revamping.

We are talking of refurbishment to the tune close to USD $.3.5 million (UGX 13b) that has been sunk already. The rooms have been increased from the original 17 to now 40 spectacular, spacious and world class rooms, inclusive of Presidential Suites.
Also included in the new Emin Pasha is a modern Spa, full with Turkish massage parlor, gym, swimming pool and state of the art conference rooms and private guest boardrooms.

Okot Simon Pope, the Prism construction Technical Director said after completion in September 2022, the hotel class ranking will shift from the original 4Star, to a 5Star Hotel.
“We used to take our guests for gym and sauna in neiboring hotels, this will cease because we shall now have everything in-house,” said Okot during the inspection.
The Hotel works is being done by PRISM Construction Company , a South Sudan firm with wings in Kampala, Juba and Nairobi in Kenya.
Speaking during an interview, the Emin Pasha Hotels Proprietor, Kennedy Losuk Lokule, said the sky will be the limit effective October 2022. Losuk is a South Sudanese businessman residing in Uganda.
Losuk, also the Chairman and Chief Executive of PRISM Construction said Emin Pasha Hotel is not just revamping, but also expanding with another new world-class Emin Pasha Hotel Muyenga nearly completed.
“Our Emin Pasha Hotel in Muyenga is so far 85% complete. We are left with a few touches and furnishing to have it ready soon. We are now in search for additional funding to the tune of at least USD$30 million to have it meet the world class standard that we desire,” said Losuk at his Kampala offices on Tuesday.
He said the Emin Pasha Muyenga is set to partner with the renown Radisson Hotel Group to bring luxury hospitality and comfort in one of Kampala’s leading Hills. “After our Uganda project we shall return to South Sudan to complete another Emin Pasha that was started but stalled due to the civil war then,” said Lokule.

Standalone apartments
Apart from having a cool 115 rooms, majority overseeing the magnificent Lake Victoria, the three acre hotel in the Muyenga Hill also has seven (7) standalone three and two bedroomed apartments.
