TORORO, Uganda[SHIFTMEDIA] On Monday July 18 2022, just 48 hours ago we (www.shiftmedianews.com) broke a story about how the residents in Soni Kainja in Tororo district where pompous City Socialite Charles Sunday Olim aka Sipapa hails from were crying foul regarding his failure to develop his ancestral home in Tororo.

After the story that went viral hit the waves, we received an outrage of attacks, we were labeled blackmailers by suspected “boot lickers”, but we stood our ground.

Our story, or “sin’ according to the ‘bootlickers’ was to expose the fact that much as Charles Sunday Olim aka Sipapa, son of Ongok from rural Soni Village in Kirewa Sub county lived ‘BIG’ in Kampala, back home it was hogwash.

Events unfold

Charles Olim aka Sipapa described us as “poor minds’, but we stood our ground armed with facts. We are proud to exclusively report today that after we published the story, Charles Olim Sunday aka Sipapa heeded and rushed home in Tororo to ‘sort the mess’.

On Tuesday July 19 2022, a day after we published the story, one of Sipapa’s neighbors passed on. He had to be present. As he rushed for burial Charles Olim Sunday aka Sipapa did the needful as he arrived with brand new 88 Uganda Baati iron sheets for his unfinished house.

We reported how the house had stalled for close two years.

One of Sipapa’s engineers who talked to us on condition of anonymity, said Sipapa had purchased 88 28 gauge Roman Tiles from the Uganda Baati agents in Tororo on Tuesday July 19 2022.

“I appreciate the power of the press. This guy (Sipapa) immediately came, he called us to meet him in Tororo where he bought 88 Iron sheets from Uganda Baati. He also bought the 11 valley ridges. He spent over Ugx 10 million in the entire purchase,’ said the engineer.

On Wednesday( July 20 2022) afternoon Sipapa jetted in in Soni village to personally witness the expeditious completion of his three bedroomed house. “He has just arrived now, he has instructed us to make sure we roof the house by tomorrow July 21 2022. We are currently working on the interior ceiling (ngalama) and the verandah ceiling before we roof tomorrow,” said one of the engineers.

Builders not happy

The scores of contractors who talked to our reporter in confidence however described Sipapa as a “cheat”. “We are now in the second phase of construction, that includes roofing (placing iron sheets) . We are demanding Olim Shs 5, 850, 000 for roofing (timber works), the person who supplied sand is demanding shs560,000 in total inclusive of labor, timber for roofing, nails and expanded metal works we are demanding shs 7, 220, 000 that Sipapa is yet to clear,” said the enraged worker.

Sipapa declined to respond to our calls when contacted. But the good aspect of this story is that Sipapa is determined to complete his house back home in Soni Village, Soni sub county West Budama County in Tororo district.

The next episode of our story will be the fully completed house belonging to Charles Olim Sunday aka Sipapa.
