TORORO, Uganda|SHIFTMEDIA| The battle for West Budama North in Tororo district is back. The bigwigs are set to tussle ahead of the 2021 general elections. Incumbent OO aka Othieno Okoth is facing a hurdle following intentions for former MP Fox Odoi Oywelowo to return to the political scene.
But young Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) cadre Osinde Mopendi Bernard who stood in 2016 and was trounced is back at the limelight. This round he is ‘swimming’ deep after he was nominated unopposed as the FDC flag carrier for the constituency.
Osinde Mopendi, Mwenge Mamit is a politician, businessman, and farmer who is currently working as A Human Resource Officer at UNHCR in northern Uganda.
The youthful politician is a holder of a Master’s degree in Management from Makerere University and has 7 years of experience in managing personnel.

“I see no other capable competitor for the seat other than me basing on how best I have been attached to the voters at all times. Once voted I hope to create a big link between the voting community of West Budama North and the central government and other development partners like UN agencies to help us in promoting our main agenda of poverty eradication amongst the electrodes,” he said in an interview.
Osinde said his greatest interest is to help foster development in his community by engaging women and youths in income-generating projects like Sacco’s and soap making which he has already initiated for women groups in the sub-counties over Kirewa, Petta, Nagongera and Sop Sop. “I am only remaining with Kisoko and Paya sub-counties
I am giving my second shot at the seat on the FDC ticket which is the most popular party at the moment in the constituency,” he bragged.
