Uganda’s Cancer Crisis: Activists Call for Prevention Over Costly Treatment

KAMPALA, Uganda|SHIFTMEDIA| Nominations for Members of Parliament kicked off smoothly countrywide for the first day. The exercises ends tomorrow, Friday, October 16 at 4 pm.
In Kampala, incumbent, Hon. Mohammed Nsereko was among the first to be nominated at Ntinda Electoral Commission offices. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, many aspirants were nominated in a quiet mode, without much pomp.
Also nominated under the National Unity Platform Party was Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu, the brother to NUP President and Kyadondo legislator, Robert Kyagulanyi who was nominated for the post of Kampala Central Member of Parliament.
Former legislator, Suleiman Madada was successfully nominated for the Bbaale MP Seat. The candidates to be nominated include directly elected MPs seats representing Counties and Constituencies, District Woman MPs and City Woman MPs, collectively vying for 518 positions in the 11th parliament.
Speaker of Parliament Hon Rebecca Atitwala Kadaga was also nominated for the Kamuli Woman Member of Parliament amidst pomp and ululations.
