Man Held Over Hacking Of Herdsman In Kyengera

WAKISO, Uganda|SHIFTMEDIA| Police is investigating circumstances how a 25 year old herdsman and resident of Kyengera was hacked by a colleague to death.

The brutal murder that has left residents of Kyengera in a sombre mood left Manizabayo Elia Vian, a resident of Mugongo A cell in Kyengera Town council dead.

According to preliminary investigations, Manizabayo was working for Mary Wosula as a herdsman in the same area when he met his death on Tuesday morning.

It is alleged that Vian was attacked by one Mugabi Frank who approached him with a hoe in the morning and dug into his head and legs, killing him instantly. Reports indicate that the deceased was a Rwandan as per his national Identity card.

ASP Luke Owoyesigirye the Kampala Deputy Police mouthpiece says they have arrested Mugabi at Kyengera Police station on allegations of murder.

Owoyesigirye says police are carrying out investigations and pieces of evidence have been collected in addition to witness reports.

The police intends to also take the suspect for a psychological evaluation to ascertain whether he is in the right state of mind as part of investigations” Owoyesigirye says

He adds that the lifeless body has been taken to the city mortuary Mulago for Post-mortem.
