KAMPALA, Uganda {SHIFT MEDIA] The hustle for accessing cash has been solved with a new mobile application App created by Opportunity Bank Uganda Limited

The app that was launched at their Head offices in Kampala on Tuesday will ease cash transactions for business personalities who find it challenging to go and queue in the banking halls.

Owen Amanya the Opportunity Bank Chief Executive Officer said after downloading the Mobile App access to clients’ accounts is instant 24/7.

“In most cases our banks close so early yet business men and women still need to transact business even after the bank has closed. This new app will help business personalities to have access to their cash anytime anywhere even after the banks have closed:” said Owen,

He said the App has been made in a way that even those clients without smart phones can access the system using the Short Message Service (SMS).

He assured Ugandans that even those who don’t have accounts with Opportunity Bank Uganda can still use the App to transact across inter banks within the country.

”I want to assure all our clients that this App is very safe and secure, since one has to use to PIN to access the system,” said Amanya.

The Opportunity Bank’s Digital Financial Services Manager Mrs. Doreen Kabateraine noted that the Mobile App has been designed with both our existing customers and new customers in mind.

The features in the App

This new App allows the customers 24/7 access to their accounts at very affordable rates and utilizes the inter bank transfer. For the very first time in Uganda, customers can transfer their funds to any bank any time, and any day in the year. You can use the app to buy airtime, pay your utility bills and transfer to the smart pocket.

Kabateraine (Below) observed that unlike Mobile Apps in the market, their solution doesn’t only make bill payments easy, but also allows seamless spending for the existing and new bank customers through their Smart Pocket virtual wallet solution that offers 24/7 Instant inter bank money transfer service using their Rapid Transfer feature.

The Opportunity Bank Mobile App allows you seamlessly transfer funds across local banks instantly using our Rapid Transfer feature. This feature is the first of its kind on the market and we are excited to deliver it to our customers,” said Doreen Kabateraine.

She noted further: “To enjoy these and more exciting features, you can now download the Opportunity Mobile App from Google Play Store of the AppStore for iOS.”
