NAIROBI, Kenya[SHIFTMEDIA] The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has completed verifying all Forms 34A and Forms 34B, six days after Kenyans went to the ballot.

According to Kenya’s Citizen News as of Monday 9:30a.m. the electoral body had verified, validated, and declared the results of 259 constituencies.

Citizen TV Political Affairs Editor Francis Gachuri who has been on location at the IEBC national tallying centre at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi said at the time that all the votes of all the 290 constituencies, as well as the diaspora constituency, had been verified and validated.

The other 32 constituencies were meanwhile only awaiting declaration.

“What remains now is just about 32 constituencies to go. Barring any serious situation, we should be able to have the final declaration in an hour or two hours time,” said Gachuri in a live TV update.

After Forms 34A and 34B have been validated and declared, what follows is the processing of Form 34C.

This gives a tabulation of all the presidential election results from 290 constituencies, the diaspora constituency, as well as a breakdown of all the votes in every polling station across the country.

The Form 34C is a compilation of all Forms 34B into one document and is what IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati is expected to announce the final figures for the presidential race.

“Latest about 1 o’clock we should be knowing who President Uhuru Kenyatta’s successor is,” added Gachuri.

So far, Agano Party presidential candidate David Mwaure has bowed out of the race.

Mwaure on Sunday said he did not think he stood a chance based on the votes he had garnered.
