KISAASI- SHIFTMEDIA- June began on a sad note for Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, the hitherto Works and Transport Minister after he survived an assassination attempt early today.
Unknown gun men riding on a numberless boda boda trailed him and opened fire near Eden Lounge in Kulambiro, a Kampala suburb. Intelligence reports indicate that his daughter and driver died on spot.
Meanwhile Gen. Katumba, also the UPDF MP was first rushed on a boda to a nearby clinic in Kisaasi before he was transferred to Medipal Hospital in Kololo.
All roads leading to Medipal along Acacia have been sealed off to avoid heavy traffic. Latest report indicate that canes are raining heavily on boda boda riders who had tried to have a glimpse and cause commotion around the health facility.
Kulambiro is the same suburb where Assistant Inspector General of Police Andrew Felix Kaweesi was gunned down as he left his home. To date his killers have never been prosecuted
